UFO makes heavy use of scriptfiles. It uses scripts for particles, menus, weapons, buildings, aircrafts, equipment, technologies and so on. These scriptfiles can be found in your gamedir in base/ufos - every *.ufo will be parsed on UFO:AI startup.
